If you prefer a Natural product, consider the Wood blinds. Because these are true wood products, there will be variations in color, grain and texture that are characteristics of real wood. These variations will be especially visible in blinds with light color stains. The variations are normal and natural and what give the wood blinds their unique beauty. Care for your wood blinds by dusting, hand held vacuuming, compressed air, hair dryer on cool setting and spot cleaning. Avoid water immersion, ultrasonic cleaning or steaming.
If you like the luxurious looks of fine hardwood blinds, yet want something practical for less money, consider the Faux wood blinds. These blinds are ideal for areas with high humidity, extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Available smooth, embossed or sandblasted for added texture. Faux wood blinds are easy to clean and completely washable, including water immersion.
If you intend to use your wood or faux wood blinds for energy efficiency, sound absorption and UV protection, remember the blinds have to be fully closed to provide these benefits. In the fully closed position the amount of energy efficiency and sound absorption or reflection between real wood blinds and faux wood blinds is so nominal, that most consumers do not even consider it a deciding factor. When fully closed both real wood and faux wood will provide 99% UV protection, however the real wood blinds are susceptible to the damages caused by UV rays, unless you have installed solar control window film to help protect the blinds.
